We researched drag strips in Connecticut and didn’t find any tracks for drag racing, but we did come across the Connecticut Street Rod Association (CSRA). Found just north of New Haven is the town of Wallingford, where you’ll find the CSRA. The club is known for their swap meets and other events as a way to keep the street rod culture alive for future generations.
About the CSRA
According to their website the CSRA was created in 1967 after a successful outing among street rod enthusiasts. The group of fellow rodders decided to create an organization and when the club grew, they began voting in officers. These officers help with the organization of the club events which also help their community. A memorable impact on their community was donating a T Bucket to the North Branford Police Department, which they later used for their D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.
The club now has 70 members as well as a clubhouse where they host their monthly meetings. New applicants are welcome as long as they’re a resident of Connecticut. They host events open for the general public as well.
Check out their website for more information on events or to browse through their gallery of sweet rides. You won’t be disappointed.
