Car of the Week: Patrick Seely's 1974 Chevy Nova

Welcome to our Car of the Week series, where we feature BTE customers and fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to drive and race. Continuing the Chevy Nova trend, today‚Äôs spotlight is on Patrick Seely and his 1974 version.

How did you get into drag racing?

My father got me into drag racing. I spent lots of time with him at the track.

When and where was your first race?

My first race was at Dyno Dom's Raceway in Sykeston, Missouri in 2013.

What model/year do you race now?

A1974 Chevy Nova

Does your car have a nickname?

Yes, my car does have a nickname. It's "Dreamer II," named after my dad's car.

What's under the hood?

A 383 stroker, a complete BTE transmission rebuild kit, BTE valve body and BTE torque converter

Why do you use BTE?

Because they're reliable and customer service is good.

Someone you look up to in racing?

I always looked up to my dad in racing. He got me started, but before we finished the car he passed on. Now I look up to my big brother who helped out tremendously on the car.

If money were no object, what would you drive?

A mint condition 1970 Chevy Nova.

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?

Not so much on rituals, I just pray the motor stays together!

If you'd like your car to be featured as our Car of the Week, please let us know in the comments and we'll follow up.
