Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Vert Wallace from Minneapolis, Minnesota who owns and races a 1979 Chevy Malibu.

How did you get into drag racing?
I started with street racing and it evolved into drag racing.

Where and when was your first drag race?
My first race was on the street in the late ‘90s in a 1970 Cutlass on West Broadway in Minneapolis.

What model/year do you race now?
1979 Chevy Malibu 

Does your car have a nickname?
Blue Cheese 

What's under the hood?
BBC Chev

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?
Converter

Why do you use BTE?
I went with BTE because of the nice price, good service and quality products.

Do you have any stories about how BTE helped you improve your racing?
I changed to a BTE converter and my ET and MPH improved drastically. 

A drag racer you look up to?
All the great racers.

If money were no object, what would you drive?
Still my 1979 Chevy Malibu 

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?
I clap my hands before I pull in the beams.
