Car of the Week: Tim Hagler's 1984 Dodge Charger

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today, it’s all about Tim Hagler from North Alabama and his 1984 Dodge Charger

How did you get into drag racing?

It started when I was a kid. I grew up around street rods, helping work on friends’ cars. When and where was your first race? I was 15 years old, driving a friend’s 4-speed with a 302 small block Chevelle on the street.

What model/year do you race now?

1984 Dodge Charger

What's under the hood?

Big Block Chevy 2-speed powerglide

Which BTE products do you use in your vehicle?

Bolt together converter, transmission pump and assorted parts

Why do you use BTE?

Good parts and good prices

Someone you look up to in racing?

There have been several people I’ve looked up to and have learned a lot from them over the years. Some have even passed away. They all live right here in North Alabama.

If money were no object, what would you drive?

I love pro stock. I would just get a motor home and bracket race around the country, relax and enjoy.

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?

Stay focused on the race try not to get tied up with all the talk.
