Car of the Week: Thomas Grover's 1965 Hillman Husky

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today, it’s all about Thomas Grover and his 1967 Hillman Husky from Terre Haute, IN.

How did you get into drag racing?

Started hanging out with my dad at the track when he raced. He let me make a couple of passes in his truck. Then he asked me if I'd like to get a car going for me to race.

When and where was your first race?

June 4th, 2016 - it was the Bernie Mann Memorial Race. The car we built used to belong to him.

What model/year do you race now?

1965 Hillman Husky

Does your car have a nickname?

The Husky Hauler

What's under the hood?

A 327 SBC with a lot of stuff we had laying around the shop.

Which BTE products do you use in your vehicle?

10-inch street/strip converter

Why do you use BTE?

This is the third car in the family with a BTE converter, we know they work very well and will hold up.

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?
