Car of the Week: Shawn Kennedy's 1949 Plymouth Coupe

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our loyal customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Shawn Kennedy from Denver, Colorado, who owns and races a 1949 Plymouth Business Coupe.

How did you get interested in drag racing?
Cheaper than flying airplanes and safer than pole dancing

When and where was your first drag race?
Started in Denver in 1976 with an Olds 442.

What model/year do you race now? Any special features?
1949 Plymouth Business Coupe, Top Sportsman

Does your car have a nickname?
Ask my wife... I think she has one for it.

What's under the hood?
The engine.  But that's not important right now.  What's important is safely landing this airplane, Stryker!

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?

Why do you use BTE? How has BTE helped you improve your racing?

Describe BTE Racing in 3 words.
Brings Torture on Everybody.

Who is a drag racer you look up to?
Just about everybody. (See my answer to "biggest challenge" question)

If money were no object, what would your dream car be?
A Barbie Jeep full of real, live, Barbies

What is your proudest drag racing moment?
Back to back NHRA Divisional Top Sportsman wins

Why do you race?
Underwear model career didn't work out
