Car of the Week: Mike Lourash's 1966 Ford Falcon

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today, it’s all about Mike Lourash and his 1966 Ford Falcon from Crawfordsville, IN

How did you get into drag racing?

My friend in high school was going to a local track, and I went to watch and got hooked.

When and where was your first race?

1978, Motion Raceway in Assumption, Illinois

What model/year do you race now?

1966 Ford Falcon

Does your car have a nickname?

Not really, I call it a lot of things.

What's under the hood?

408ci Ford Stroker

Which BTE products do you use in your vehicle?

Bracket brake, all seals, clutches and band. Most recently I installed a 1.80 straight cut planetary

Why do you use BTE?

Great parts, affordable prices and great technical support.

Someone you look up to in racing?

No one person, there are a lot of good role models out there in bracket racing.

If money were no object, what would you drive?

Probably the same car as now, I would just race a lot more places.

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?

Get to the track early and hang out with good people.
