Car of the Week: Lucas McKinney's 1996 Chevrolet S10

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Lucas McKinney from Elizabethton, TN, who owns and races a 1996 Chevrolet S10.

How did you get into drag racing?
My dad started racing when he was 20, so I pretty much grew up at a racetrack in the Southeast somewhere.

When and where was your first drag race?
Bristol Dragway in 2008

What model/year do you race now?
1996 Chevrolet S10

Does your car have a nickname?
No

What's under the hood?
414 ci small block Chevrolet

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?
BTE after-market glide case, BTE 180 straight cuts, and BTE converter

Why do you use BTE?
Best price for the best product

Do you have any stories about how BTE helped you improve your racing?
Kept busting stock glide cases, so I bought a BTE case and have had zero issues since then.

A drag racer you look up to?
My dad

If money were no object, what would you drive?
The same thing I drive now, but with even better parts underneath it

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?
Grab the roll bar and pull myself up in the seat. Kiss my girlfriend and tell her I love her, strap in and clear my mind.
