BTE Car of the Week: Kenny Case's 1970 Nova

Car of the Week: Kenny Case's 1970 Nova

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Kenny Case from Norwalk, OH, who owns and races a 1970 Nova.

How did you get into drag racing?
Born into the sport, my dad has raced for 25+ years.

When and where was your first drag race?
The first race was at my home track Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH. I started when I was 8 years old in a Jr. dragster.

What model/year do you race now?
1970 Nova

Does your car have a nickname?
Pinky

What's under the hood?
421sbc Graham Performance Racing Engine

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?
BTE Converter

Why do you use BTE?
Wasn’t happy with how other brand converters performed in my car so I gave BTE a chance and found a converter that perfectly suited my needs.

Do you have any stories about how BTE helped you improve your racing?
It’s a little crazy but first pass out with the new BTE converter in, we went to Clay City, KY. I wasn’t expecting a 250-ft wheel stand on the bumper (the car has never pulled the wheels like that before) so it made me more aware and I learned to ride big wheelies out and still grab win lights.

A drag racer you look up to?
There’s plenty to pick from but I would have to say, my dad, I would like to be as good as he was someday.

If money were no object, what would you drive?
‘63 Chevy Nova Wagon with full interior

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?
Don’t really have one, just send it down the strip.
