Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our loyal customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring John C. Gibson from Monticello, GA, who owns and races a 1993 Mustang GT.

How did you get interested in drag racing?
Wanted to build a car with my son so I could teach him about engines.

When and where was your first drag race?
We raced in the last 2 Summit ET bracket races at Silver Dollar Motorsports Park in Reynolds, Georgia of the 2019 season.

What model/year do you race now? Any special features?
1993 Mustang GT. 351W on methanol. Mini tubbed, ladder bar rear, 8 point cage. Pro ET car

Does your car have a nickname?

What's under the hood?
351W bored .030 over, ProMaxx aluminum heads, hyd roller cam topped off with a Wes May carb

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?
Torque converter and we will soon use a transmission that we have, as racing schedule permits.

Why do you use BTE? How has BTE helped you improve your racing?
When we installed a BTE converter, our ETs got much more consistent.

Soft tail dragster with a big block

What is your proudest drag racing moment?
When we won a bracket race last year 

Why do you race?
It's a family outing. My son drives and I'm sort of like the crew chief. It's helped our relationship.
