Car of the Week: Ed Miller's 1970 Chevrolet C10

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today, it’s all about Ed Miller of Rangely, CO and his 1970 Chevrolet C10

How did you get into drag racing?

I got into drag racing while in the navy.

When and where was your first race?

In 1987, I went to Englishtown and was hooked. I started making my 1970 GMC truck faster and faster until it was running 10s in the 1/4. My first races were on the street until I moved back to Colorado, then I started going to the local track in Grand Junction. I now drive a low 8 second full size, all steel except the hood!

What model/year do you race now?

1970 tube chassis C10 truck

Does your car have a nickname?

No nickname for the truck, but they call me KillerMiller.

What's under the hood?

I am currently running a Madcap 598 cu BBC that makes 1100 HP and 932 ft lbs on motor and 175 shot with a fogger, tranmission is powerglide with a nitrous converter.

Someone you look up to in racing?

I have been a John Force fan as long as I've been interested in drag racing.

If money were no object, what would you drive?

I would have a pro mod Corvette with a blower and run with my friends at YNot Racing.

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?

I always put my gloves on last, and left goes on first.
