Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our loyal customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Donald Gertz II from Crownsville, MD, who owns and races a 1974 Chevy Nova.
How did you get interested in drag racing?
When my Dad started racing around 1966.

When and where was your first drag race?
In the summer of 1996, when I got my license.

What model/year do you race now? Any special features?
1974 Chevy Nova, tagged streetcar, Drag Week 2019 survivor 

Does your car have a nickname?
The Christie Lee 

What's under the hood?
Used 406 with a used cam and my dad's old heads, I call it sketchy mouse.

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?
Not yet. Honestly, I didn't discover you guys ‘till I started racing WFC in 2015. But, I certainly see myself supporting y'all in the future. Your support to the sport is greatly appreciated. 

Why do you use BTE? How has BTE helped you improve your racing?
Great racing supporters. 

Who is a drag racer you look up to?
My dad

If money were no object, what would your dream car be?
‘65 Chevelle

What is your proudest drag racing moment?
Surviving Drag Week 2019, and the RU and MMTV interview with Jared Pennington at WFC 2016

Why do you race?
The drive to always improve and succeed. 

What is your biggest challenge as a driver?
Finish line driving and to not tinker lol.
