Car of the Week: Brent Fuller's 1985 Chevy S10

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our loyal customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Brent Fuller from Fyffe, Alabama, who owns and races a 1985 Chevy S10.

How did you get interested in drag racing?
I had 2 uncles in 1972 that had GTO’s and would carry us to the track when I was 9 years old. It gets in the blood!

When and where was your first drag race?
On the street. We did a lot of street racing and at the track.

What model/year do you race now? Any special features?
1985 S10 388 chevy small blk. Powerglide 4:10’s. Full interior., all glass all steel(except hood),6.80 1/8 mile@ 104 mph on gas. It is converted to E85 now and looking forward to seeing it pick up a cpl tenths!

Does your car have a nickname?
Lil heavy

What's under the hood?
Small block Chevrolet 400 stroked to 388, Canfield heads, fender exit headers,belt driven vacuum /evac pump,Quickfuel 850 E85.MSD grid, motor plate/ mid plate,csr water pump

If money were no object, what would your dream car be?
1969 Camaro Z28

What is your proudest drag racing moment?
I was dialed in one night at a 7.71 and went 7.71.1with a .005 react. We were going rounds!

Why do you race?
There is not another feeling/experience like it in my opinion. I like the competition aspect of it!

What is your biggest challenge as a driver?
Overthinking
