Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our loyal customers and drag racing fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today we're featuring Billy Ferguson from Carleton, Michigan, who owns and races a 1969 Camaro SS.

How did you get interested in drag racing?
My dad used to race which got me interested, and once I started racing I was hooked.

When and where was your first drag race?
I did a lot of street racing when I was about 17-years-old and my first track I ever raced at was Detroit Dragway. I've been racing there from 1986 until they closed (I loved that track and all the racers).

What model/year do you race now? Any special features?
1969 Camaro SS big tire car 

Does your car have a nickname?
One track mind

What's under the hood?
Nitrous fed 572 big block Chevy with GM iron heads

Which BTE Racing products do you use in your vehicle?
All internal parts in my powerglide are BTE full roller jw case

Why do you use BTE? How has BTE helped you improve your racing?
After installing NOS on my motor I found some weak links in my transmission. BTE had the fix for me with an updated vasco input shaft, a straight cut gear set, updated high gear drum with 10 clutches valve body front pump and more.

Pro stock  

What is your proudest drag racing moment?
Never having to lift my hood off at the track and going rounds

Why do you race?
The adrenaline rush and competition, it's like a drug.

What is your biggest challenge as a driver?
Staying focused and consistent.
