Car of the Week: Allen Wood's 1980 Chevy Malibu Wagon

Welcome to the BTE Racing Car of the Week series, where we feature our customers and fans, and the cars (and trucks) they love to race. Today, it’s all about Allen Wood from Clarksville, TN and his 1980 Chevy Malibu Wagon.

When and where was your first race?

I started racing in the early 90s.

What model/year do you race now?

A 1980 Chevy Malibu wagon

Does your car have a nickname?

It’s been called many names. “Tha Creeper,” “Slugo,” and “Murder Wagon.”

What's under the hood?

The factory drive train. It’s a 305 cubic inch Chevy, Turbo 350 Transmission. It runs 10.40's at 68 mph in 1/8th. I have to deep stage it's so slow off the line. I’m sure a BTE converter would fix that problem!

Someone you look up to in racing?

I look up to a lot of different racers and try to gain knowledge from them.

If money were no object, what would you drive?

I would love to drive super gas if money was no object.

What is your pre-race ritual (if you have one)?

I never eat during the races.
